A plus size model took on the crochet bikini trend this week.
Stunner Tori Matthews was seen rocking brand Fashion Nova’s ‘Malibu Babe Crochet Skirt Set’ on its Curve Instagram page. However, despite loving Tori’s ‘real body’, shoppers had one big issue about the outfit.
Many felt that the swimwear set didn’t fit Tori very well. And they may have also noticed that crochet material doesn’t hold up very well in the water.

“Here for the real body, now make clothes that fit a real body,” wrote one person. While another added: “Could be cute… If it fit right!” A third also wrote: “This isn’t flattering on her natural body at all.”
While a fourth chimed in: “This does not accurately show how boobs fit in this… what the mess is this. At least if you’re gonna have the lady wear the clothes, tie it shorter so her boobs don’t look all lumpy at the top. Just like your bra, if your boobs look like this it’s not the right size.”
The fabric of the bikini may also pose a problem if you’re planning on going for a paddle too. The porous material can go soggy and saggy when wet, which isn’t ideal.
Despite the complaints, many were also loving the look. One exclaimed: “Her body is an actual real body, I love this representation and she looks beautiful.” While another added: “I think she looks good. Real baddie real body.”

The post comes after Fashion Nova was praised for using another model with a ‘real body’ last week. Stunner Erika Lipps was seen modelling the brand’s ‘Loving Gaze Lace Corset Set’ on its ‘Curve’ Instagram page.
This saw body positive beauty Erika, 31, show off her curvy figure in the pretty, patterned corset, which was teamed with a matching, sheer thong.
The post was captioned: “Never Apologise For Being Sexy.” And fans definitely agreed she looked great, as one exclaimed: “Finally a plus size girl without a tummy tuck on here.” While another added: “Finally, a more realistic body.”
