D.C. Everest performing arts earn musical theater Jerry Awards – Wausau Pilot & Review


WESTON – The Overture Center for the Arts recently announced numerous cast and crew members from the D.C. Everest performing arts program had earned Jerry Awards for both its “All Shook Up” and “A Christmas Carol” productions.

This is the ninth year DCE Senior High has participated in the Jerry Awards and the fifth time the program has earned an Outstanding Musical Award.

The Jerry Awards program, named after Madison-area philanthropist and arts supporter W. Jerome Frautschi, encourages, recognizes and honors excellence in musical theater. More than 100 high schools and community theaters from 31 Wisconsin counties participated in this year’s Jerry Awards.

D.C. Everest’s production of “All Shook Up” received the following awards:

  • Outstanding Lead Performance-Shiloh Burgess (Chad)
  • Outstanding Lead Performance-Terrek Schjoth (Dennis)
  • Outstanding Lead Performance-Milana Bublik (Miss Sandra)
  • Spirit Award-Rylan Douck
  • Outstanding Musical-this includes the recognition for the following:
    • Outstanding Ensemble Outstanding Direction-Wendy Vesper and Marshall DeLonay; Outstanding Musical Direction-Cristie Bates; Outstanding Choreography-Marshall DeLonay; Outstanding Scenic Design-Kari Nuszkiewica and Chris Barlow; Outstanding Costume/Hair and Make-up Design-Amy Fronek and Amanda Burgess; Outstanding Sound Design-Casidy Rodriguez and Belen Braunger
    • Outstanding Light Design-Lucas Gajewski, Shiloh Burgess and Ethan Reimann

D.C. Everest’s production of “A Christmas Carol” received the following awards:

  • Outstanding Lead Performance-Julian Traska (Scrooge)
  • Spirit Award-Terrek Schjoth

This year, the program had 500-plus award recipients from 116 productions across the state. These productions were at schools of varying sizes with varying budgets.
