ITA Northwest Super Regional Championships Tournament Page & Draws
STANFORD, Calif. – Santa Clara men’s tennis players Guillaume Dalmasso and Christian Lerby each won two singles matches to advance to the singles quarterfinal rounds at the ITA Northwest Super Regional Championships on Friday. Three of the four wins came against players from Pac-12 schools.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Dalmasso and Lerby took different routes to move on to the quarterfinals with Dalmasso winning both his matches in straight sets while Lerby needed three sets in each of his matches.
- Dalmasso won his opening against Sacramento State’s Mark Keki, 6-3, 6-2 in the morning session and beat Cal’s Carl Emil Overbeck 7-5, 6-3 in the afternoon round of 16.
- Lerby beat a pair of Pac-12 players, first Derrick Chen of Cal, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, followed by Stanford’s Neel Rajesh, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3
NEXT UP:
- On Saturday, Dalmasso will face Oregon’s Quinn Vandecasteele while Lerby takes on Stanford’s Samir Banerjee. Both matches will be played at 3 p.m. But before that, the Broncos duo will play their opening round doubles match at 10 a.m. against UC Davis’ Luke Bollinger and Ryan Torres.
