Dancers Sue Lizzo for Sexual Harassment and Discrimination

Lizzo was accused of treating her former backup dancers badly at work by sexually abusing them and making them feel bad about their bodies.

Three of her former dancers took her to court in Los Angeles County Superior Court because they said they were afraid of losing their jobs. This led one of them to touch a naked performer in an Amsterdam strip club at the pop star’s urging.

The suits also said that the Boys rapper was in favor of “catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas,” as reported by NBC.

The singer’s production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., was also named in the claim. Names like Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez were used in the charges.

The 35-year-old was also accused of hitting out at her dancers’ weights, even though she was a public supporter of the body-positivity movement.

In the lawsuit, their lawyer, Ron Zambrano, said, “The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly.”

She went on, “While privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are not only illegal but absolutely demoralizing.”

Shirlene Quigley, the leader of Lizzo’s dance team, was also accused of religious harassment and making the dancers feel uncomfortable by talking about their private lives.
