David Gail, Star of ‘Beverly Hills,’ Died at the Age of 58


David Gail, the star of the General Hospital spin-off series Port Charles and Beverly Hills, 90210, has died. He was 58.

Gail’s sister, Katie Colmenares, broke the news of his passing on Saturday with an Instagram homage to his life and legacy.

“There’s barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me by my side always my wingman always my best friend ready to face anything and anyone w me,” she wrote beside a photo of herself and Gail cuddling.

“The bears will never be the same but I will hold you so tight every day in my heart you gorgeous loving amazing fierce human being.”

“Missing you every second of every day forever,” she went on to say. “There will never be another.”

Gail’s most well-known role was as Dr. Joe Scanlon in almost 200 episodes of Port Charles from 1999 to 2000.

In Beverly Hills, 90210, he also played Stuart Carson, the fiancé of Shannen Doherty’s character, Brenda Walsh.

Savannah was his other major role; he played Dean Collins for the whole run of the brief primetime drama series.

His other film and television credits include ER, JAG, Bending All the Rules, Robin Hoods, and many more.
