Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome Convicted of XXXTentacion’s Murder

In June 2018, rapper XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jaseh Onfroy, was attacked, robbed, and killed in his car. The three men were found guilty of murder in the first degree and armed robbery.

The jury decided that Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome killed XXXTentacion.

A Florida jury reached a verdict after a month-long trial, nearly five years after the death of the famous rapper.

Prosecutors stated during the trial that the three defendants saw XXXTentacion at the motorcycle shop and intended to rob him. They said that Williams disabled XXXTentacion’s BMW with a car while the other two went up to him with guns and tried to steal $50,000 from him in a designer bag.

On April 6, they will likely be sentenced to life in prison, which is the minimum mandatory sentence for their crimes.

Robert Allen, the fourth person suspected in the crime, admitted to second-degree murder and armed robbery with a gun. During their trial, Allen testified against the three other defendants and will be sentenced later.

XXXTentacion collaborated with artists such as Kanye West, Lil Peep, and Lil Wayne, and his songs topped the charts before and after his passing.
