More than 120 local and regional music acts soon will be taking it to the streets in downtown DeLand.
The 23rd Annual DeLand Original Music Festival returns for its annual fall musical invasion with a 12-hour marathon of performances Nov. 4 at venues throughout DeLand’s bustling downtown business district.
“Downtown DeLand provides a perfect backdrop to showcase these acts at one of the nation’s top award-winning historic downtown districts,” said Phil Weidner, who presents the event through his Songwriters Showcases of America, a company that has produced area concerts and festivals since 1999.

What kind of music is on the bill?
Expect to hear a broad array of styles that encompass rock, jazz, blues, country, hip-hop, electronica, folk, Christian rock, metal, reggae, Americana, among others.
In addition to dozens and dozens of bands from throughout Central Florida, the event also attracts performers statewide, with this years’ schedule populated by bands from Miami, Sarasota, Jacksonville, St. Petersburg and elsewhere.
Others have traveled from as far as Pennsylvania and the renowned live music destination of Austin, Texas. The idea is that there’s something for everyone.
What if I’m not into music?
Beyond the bands, the event also includes an art show featuring the work of dozens of area artists as well as an assortment of other craft vendors, food trucks and a beer garden.
Where are the stages?
Performances will unfold in the heart of DeLand’s downtown business district along Woodland Boulevard from Rich to Howry avenues. The event’s main stage will be outside, in front of the historic Volusia County Courthouse on Indiana Avenue.
Additional stages will be at venues that include Chess Park, Pioneer Park, the Half Wall, the Blind Pig, the Elusive Grape, Café DaVinci. Steve’s Downtown Music and Issues, among others.
When do the bands start?
Music runs from 1 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, rain or shine.
What does it cost?
Advance tickets are available online at www.ssa.cc or at Steve’s Downtown Music in DeLand and Atlantic Sounds in Daytona Beach. Cost: $15 Advance, free for age 12 and under. At the gate, tickets will be $20.
