The wait was worth it for DeSales and senior standout Damone King.
The Colts and Butler were scheduled to play about two weeks ago, but the game was postponed because of inclement weather.
King scored 24 points, leading DeSales to a 77-54 boys basketball victory Wednesday night. With the wire-to-wire win, the Colts clinched the top seed for the 22nd District Tournament.
King and Bears senior standout Dayton Williams battled throughout. The difference was King had plenty of help on both ends of the court. The Colts (18-7) received contributions from senior William Gibson, senior Brady Cummins, senior Logan Tharp and junior Prince Kahnplaye.
