Argentine artist Raúl Díaz pushes the boundaries of genres. It’s debatable if he makes sculptures or paintings as he leans into experimentation, employing wood, bronze, resin, stone, marble, ceramics, handmade paper, dry pigments, chalk, acrylic and watercolor.
Chandler Simpson, a director at the Maya Frodeman Gallery, which is hosting his work, said Díaz “invites us to seek refuge in a secret universe that exists within each of us.”
