DiCaprio Calls ‘Tremendous’ Actress Lily Gladstone ‘A Voice of Change’

On November 16, Leonardo DiCaprio congratulated his Killers of the Flower Moon co-star Lily Gladstone at Variety’s Power of Women event.

The Titanic star talked highly of Lily when receiving the prize during the ceremony on Thursday at the Los Angeles restaurant Mother Wolf, according to Variety.

Leonardo, dressed in a navy suit with a black button-up shirt, thought on Lily’s career graph, which he believes was biased against her talents and displayed Hollywood biases.

“That an actor of such profound talent has found it a long and hard road to get this recognition speaks to the unfairness that still exists in our industry today,” the 49-year-old actor added.

Leonardo went on to say, “I fervently hope that we’re entering a new era in which actors like Lily, who embody this authenticity and undeniable truth in their own storytelling, take centre stage.”

“Because Lily’s not just an actor, she’s also an activist,” the Inception actor explained.

Leonardo described Lily as a “wise, kind and humble soul, a tremendous talent, an incredibly important voice of change.”

The Shutter Island star also applauded Lily’s work with the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Centre, which focuses on reducing violence against Native women.

Meanwhile, other celebrities, including Barbie star Margot Robbie, Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle, and Dua Lipa, attended the event.
