Reece Matthew, diesel instructor at Clearfield County Career and Technology Center, shares two of his best practices with the staff. He records videos of himself doing work in the field, then edits them for either instructional purposes or for entertainment, so students can see the real-world experience of their field and see the strong work ethic Matthew demonstrates. He also shared how he gives students five “sick days” to use during the school year, similar to a work experience. This helps students learn to manage their attendance better and become more accountable for their time “off.”
