Mystery and drama will take centre stage on Disney+ with the upcoming series Light Shop, a new project from renowned Korean creative Kang Full, who created the successful webtoon and film Moving.
Light Shop, set to release in the second half of 2024, promises to dig into the depths of human existence, exploring subjects such as life, death, and what actually defines us as humans.
Light Shop, a mystery drama that “explores life, death, and what makes us human,” is planned to premiere on the streaming service in the second half of 2024.
The tale revolves around a strange tiny business sitting at the end of a dark lane. However, this is no average establishment. This Light Shop attracts a diverse group of people, each with a traumatic history and a personal connection to the paranormal.
As their paths cross within the shop’s enigmatic light, these strangers go on a joint adventure to confront their inner demons and uncover the mysteries that connect them to the supernatural.
Kang Full, a storyteller with a proven track record of mixing poignant storytelling with surreal aspects, will direct the project.
His webtoon changing, which explored the emotional baggage of changing houses, struck a chord with readers all over the world and was ultimately transformed into a popular film.
Kang Full’s new series marks his debut in the streaming realm, bringing his unique blend of emotional depth and compelling intrigue to Disney Plus.
The film Light Shop is directed by Kim Hee-won and stars Bae Seong-woo, Ju Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, and Lee Jung-eun.
Disney+ began in South Korea in November 2021, and it has since upped the quantity of local content it produces in order to capitalise on the K-drama genre’s growing global popularity.
