Doctor Who New Season: Trailer, guest star and episode titles unveiled


All the Doctor Who fans got an Easter treat as the makers released the exciting new trailer, along with the new guest star who will be joining the show and all the episode’s names.

Releasing in May, the new season will see Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa as the fifteenth doctor of the cosmic world. And, this time he will have Millie Gibson as his partner Ruby Sunday.

The new trailer took the audience into the wild world of Doctor Who and his companion Ruby Sunday, travelling back in time. The clip showed them time-travelling back in the Victorian era, in the space station where they meet space babies in the 1960s as they continue to solve mysteries and fight villains. 

The new season which marks the entire new beginning of the iconic show, picks up after the events shown in the special Christmas episode called ”The Church on Ruby Road.”

Who is the new guest star?

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story star Golda Rosheuvel will be part of the show as a guest star. In the first episode of the season, she will play the role of Jocelyn.

“It’s been amazing to see the whole world appreciate Golda’s talents, because of Bridgerton, and it’s been an absolute joy to invite her to Cardiff to help launch Ncuti and Millie’s first season,”  showrunner Russell T  Davies said in a statement.

Golda joins the amazing group of guest stars including Callie Cooke, Dame Siân Phillips, Alexander Devrient, Bhav Joshi, Indira Varma, Angela Wynter, Anita Dobson, Aneurin Barnard, Yasmin Finney, Jonathan Groff, Gwïon Morris Jones, Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy, Caoilinn Springall and Tachia Newall.

Taking the excitement of the audience a notch higher, the makers revealed all the episode titles, directors, and writers.

Episode 2 – The Devil’s Chord: Written by Russell T Davies, directed by Ben Chessell

Episode 3 – Boom: Written by Steven Moffat, directed by Julie Anne Robinson

Episode 4 – 73 Yards: Written by Russell T Davies, directed by Dylan Holmes Williams

Episode 5 – Dot and Bubble: Written by Russell T Davies, directed by Dylan Holmes Williams

Episode 6 – Rogue: Written by Kate Herron and Briony Redman, directed by Ben Chessell

Episode 7 – The Legend of Ruby Sunday: Written by Russell T Davies, directed by Jamie Donoughue

Episode 8 – Empire of Death: Written by Russell T Davies, directed by Jamie Donoughue 

The show will have a double premiere on Disney+ on May 10, 2024 and on BBC iPlayer on May 11.
