In Nashville, Dolly Parton and her famous style are getting the love and attention they deserve.
The singer of the hit song “Jolene” was at the official opening of Dolly Parton and the Makers: My Life in Rhinestones on Friday, October 27.
This event was the launch of a new exhibit at Lipscomb University’s Beaman Library, which showed some of her most famous looks from her long career.
Parton, who is 77 years old, wore a spot-on Halloween dress to the event.
She put on a black and silver dress with small spikes, web-like mesh, and other stylish details.
Parton was there with her niece, who works as an archivist and gushed over the show before it opened to the public.
Parton showed off her favorite outfit at the Friday ribbon-cutting event. It was the dress she wore to perform “He’s Alive” at the 1989 CMA Awards.
“I’m amazed at how much I’ve done, I really am,” she said in a funny way, as reported by WTVF. A person asks, “Someone says how does it feel to see all that? I think, ‘Phew, that’s a lot of living.”
The interesting display will officially open on October 31.
The show, which runs until December 9, will not only honor Parton’s looks but also shine a light on the other artists who made the 25 looks in the show.
On her website, Dolly Parton says it will bring out “the real magic that happens behind the seams.”
In other news, her new book, Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, came out on Oct. 17. This fashion review comes after that.
