Meryl Streep and Don Gummer, her husband of 45 years, have been splitting up for six years without telling each other.

On Friday, sources told Page Six that Streep, 74, and her 76-year-old husband Don Gummer have “chosen lives apart” after 40 years of marriage, but they will “always” care about each other.

A rep for Meryl Streep, who is often called the best actress of her age, told the outlet, “Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years. And while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”

The news came out on the same day that the Devil Wears Prada star was seen wearing her wedding band while getting the Princess of Austria Award in Oviedo, Spain, from the Spanish royal family.

They were married 45 years ago last month, which is pretty cool.

The sculptor Gummer and three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep got married in 1978 and have four children and five grandkids together.

The two are known for keeping their personal lives quiet, but Gummer has walked the red carpet with the Hollywood star several times, including at the 2018 Oscars.

The news source says that was the last time they were seen together in public.
