After four years of marriage, the spouse of Drake Bell, Janet Von Schmeling, wanted to end her relationship.
TMZ said that Janet filed a plea to end her marriage in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County because she and her husband had “irreconcilable differences.”
In the document, Drake’s wife also asks for money and control of their children.
Drake was found lost in Daytona Beach, Florida, a week before the news came out. The former child star was initially reported missing on April 13, when Daytona Beach Police Department posted an announcement on Facebook. He was found, though, by the afternoon.
“At this time, we can confirm law enforcement officials are in contact, and Mr. Bell is safe,” the Daytona Beach PD said in a statement.
The incident reportedly began when Drake’s brother Robert called the Orlando Police Department to report that Drake had stated he did not want to be alive due to child custody issues, as stated in a police report obtained by TMZ.
In a 911 tape that Entertainment Tonight got their hands on, an Orlando police officer remembered how worried Drake’s family was about his supposed suicide threats.
Page Six reported in early January that the couple had broken up after Drake was seen “huffing balloons in his car in the parking lot of a California vape shop while his young son sat in the back seat.”
