Abstract art takes center stage for gallery exhibition opening January 20.
The Town of Danville announces the opening of Driven to Abstraction, an exhibition featuring the work of five unique artists with diverse backgrounds who have found commonality in their love for abstract visual art. Driven to Abstraction is curated by Barbara Landberg, one of the five artists showcased.
The artists of Driven to Abstraction are unified in their commitment to art and believe that creating new work is essential to their well-being. Their abstract art reflects their own different perspectives and experiences, in addition to varying techniques and styles. Driven to Abstraction opens Saturday, January 20 with an artists’ reception from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public, and the exhibition runs through March 22. The exhibition will include supplemental activities exploring abstract art, including a movie series and an art program for kids.
The Village Theatre Art Gallery is at 233 Front St., Danville. For more information, including hours and artists, visit www.danville.ca.gov/arts.
