POLICE SAY THEY ARRESTED A 48 YEAR OLD DRIVER FOR OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED. THIS CRASH HAPPENED YESTERDAY JUST BEFORE 3:00 AT HUMBOLDT AND CENTER. AND THE CITY’S RIVERWEST NEIGHBORHOOD. YOU CAN SEE THAT VEHICLE ENDED UP BASICALLY ON THE FRONT LAWN OF A HOME. THERE. WE SPOKE WITH A HOMEOWNER THIS MORNING WHO SAYS HE WAS HOME AT THE TIME AND DIDN’T EVEN REALIZE THAT HAD HAPPENED. MY NEIGHBOR CALLS ME AND SAYS, HEY, DO YOU KNOW THERE’S A CAR IN YOUR FRONT YARD? AND I LAUGH AT. AND I SAID, YEAH, THERE’S ABOUT 5 OR 6 OF THEM. AND HE SAID, NO, THERE’S ANOTHER ONE. AND I TOOK ME A WHILE TO I GOT MY CELL PHONE AND RAN OUT HERE AND SURE ENOUGH, THERE WAS A CAR PERCHED UP ON OUR WALL HERE. SO POLICE SAID FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

Milwaukee police arrest driver who crashed into a man’s front yard car display on suspicion of OWI

Milwaukee police arrested the person who crashed into someone’s front yard wall Sunday afternoon. Video from the scene shows the white SUV perched up on a cinderblock wall at a home near Humboldt Boulevard and Center Street in the Riverwest Neighborhood. Police arrested the 48-year-old driver on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. No one was injured. The homeowner had a car display in his front lawn. “My neighbor calls me and says, ‘Hey, do you know there’s a car in your front yard?’” David Jones, the homeowner, said. “And I laughed, and I said, ‘Yeah, there’s about five or six of them.’ And he said, ‘No, there’s another one.’”Some of the display cars were destroyed. He is still working to determine if he can salvage some of the car art.
