(WBFF) — On Friday, around 12:40 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop with a white 2011 Infiniti G37 on Route 3 near Defense Highway in Crofton, Anne Arundel County Police said.
The vehicle fled, passed through a red light and crashed into another vehicle, according to police.
The driver was detained and officers found a loaded .38 caliber Glock handgun and two bottles of suspected promethazine/codeine in the car, police said.

Officers discovered that the driver was prohibited from having firearms, and that the vehicle was reported stolen from Prince George’s County, according to police.
The driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Criminal charges are pending the driver’s release from medical care, according to police.
