The Dry Canyon Arts Association presented near $69,000 to Jumpstart Art Friday. It’s a program at Redmond elementary schools that provides funding for supplies and art education for younger students.
“There has been little or no art education, visual art education in the elementary schools. And we wanted to change that. Our organization decided to take it on ourselves and do what we could,” Dry Canyon Arts Association Chair Mel Archer said.
The program has been working closely with the Dry Canyon Arts Association for more than a year to keep art education alive in Redmond.
