Early Career House-Hunting Troubles for Kelly Clarkson and Kevin Bacon

On Wednesday, December 27, Kelly Clarkson and Kevin Bacon traded housing experiences from their early professions on the former’s titular show.

The television personality disclosed in a series of surprising confessions that she didn’t even know the person she was living with when the presenter first relocated to Los Angeles.

Kelly revealed that she traveled from Texas to Los Angeles with no leads while spilling the beans about her relationship with her roommate.

“I actually moved out to L.A. with some random person I did not know,” the show’s star admitted, adding, “Yeah, she just needed a roommate. I was like, ‘I’ll do it,’ and I moved from Texas to L.A. with a random stranger.”

She also mentioned that it didn’t last long because the flat quickly caught fire, leaving them homeless.

The singer was forced to sleep “in her car for a few days and then tried out for a show called ‘American Idol,’ so it all worked out.”

In response, Bacon revealed his own share of early life hardships, revealing that he once lived in a “flophouse” in New York City.

He provided insight into his early life by noting that in 1976, he had a budget of roughly $150 for an apartment, only to find out that the listings were out of his price range.

Bacon also revealed that he asked a stranger if he could live with him, and the stranger consented.

They lived together for four years and remain close, according to the Footloose star, who said, “In fact, I just had lunch with him the other day.”
