East Greenbush Police seek footage, suspects in overnight car theft

East Greenbush Police are seeking assistance from the public, hoping someone has security footage for a car theft in Hampton Manor.

At about 7 a.m. Saturday, a resident on Maryland Ave E went out to her vehicle and found that it had been stolen overnight. According to police, the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were left in it. Patrols responded and completed a report.

At approximately 9:51 a.m., police say, the victim actually located her stolen vehicle with three suspects inside of it on Spring Ave E, only two blocks away from where the vehicle was stolen. After confronting the suspects they fled on foot jumping fences and heading towards Maryland Ave E.

It is believed that all three suspects were in the area from 4 a.m. until patrols arrived around just before 10 a.m. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner, but police are still trying to identify these three suspects.

The department is asking that every resident in Hampton Manor checks their cameras for any activity from 4-10 a.m. that could aid the investigation investigation. The suspects were on foot and also riding the area in the stolen vehicle, a white Honda Civic.

The suspects are described as three younger (late teens or early 20’s) black males with hoods up, one of whom was wearing a ski mask. Additionally, all three of the suspects were wearing white sneakers. Preliminary photos are attached of the suspects with only one of them being of good quality.

The East Greenbush Police K-9 team searched the area and backyards which yielded negative results. A vacant house was also checked and cleared in the area. At this time, police believe the suspects have fled the area.

If you captured any activity or better photos, you can contact Officer Witko at (518) 479-2525.
