eBay is expanding its apparel resale efforts to the catwalk.
The e-commerce marketplace, which recently rolled out a click-to-resell feature for select apparel products, is partnering with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and British Fashion Council (BFC ) to host its inaugural “Pre-Loved Fashion Week.”
The event will feature two shoppable “Endless Runway” live events hosted on the eBay Live livestream shopping platform. One will be based in New York and accessible to U.S. shoppers at noon ET on Thursday, Sep. 5. The other will be based in London and accessible to U.K. shoppers on Thursday, Sep. 12 at 1 p.m. ET.
The events will spotlight used fashion items from designers including Khaite, Off-White, Christopher Kane and Simone Rocha and precede the New York and London Fashion Week schedules. It will be followed by daily drops on eBay curating select designer items.
The Endless Runway shows will be curated and styled by fashion creative Wisdom Kaye and hosted by fashion writer Liana Satenstein in New York, with eBay’s pre-loved style director Amy Bannerman supported by live host Leomie Anderson in London.
Following the U.K. show, eBay will offer additional curated edits of used pieces from top British designers showing at London Fashion Week in the past 40 years.
