Ed Sheeran and Luke Combs Surprise the Audience with a Duet of ‘Life Goes On’

Ed Sheeran was a surprise guest at Thursday’s 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. He and Luke Combs performed his new song “Life Goes On” in a country style. Soon after the show, the duet version of the song came out, which made fans of both acts very happy.

Sheeran’s performance came after Combs sang Love You Anyway, the number-one song from his record Gettin’ Old.

Combs joined Sheeran as he played his guitar and sang the acoustic version of his new single “Life Goes On,” which is from his album “Subtract.”

The singer of “Perfect” and Combs have been friends for five years, and Sheeran joined Beautiful Crazy on stage to sing “Dive” from his record “Divide” with Combs.

Combs has said on The Bobby Bones Show that they met for the first time at a place called Twin Peaks in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Sheeran recently told Billboard that he loves country music. He said, “I talk about this to my wife [Cherry Seaborn] all the time. I would love to transition into country,” the 32-year-old singer said.

He also said, “I love the culture of it, I just love the songwriting. It’s just like, brilliant songs.”

Thursday, the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards were broadcast from Frisco, Texas’s Ford Center at The Star. The awards were only shown live on Prime Video.
