Edison Career and Technology students unveil mosaic mural in honor of “The Black Rosies”

Angela Vazquez, one of the five students who worked on the mosiac, talked about her and her classmates worked how some areas of the face was detailed work to make sure they got the features right. Edison Career and Technology High School unveiled their Ladies Ladders & Lenses mosiac mural at the school. The other students who worked on it but were not at the unveiling were LaJour Dunlop, Yaidymar Flores, Amari Coley-Henderson, A’Zariah Williams and CeCe Jones,. The students area construction and design students at the school, and had made the mosaic to honor the Black Rosies of World War II. This is a 10 year project to showcase pioneering women and will be displayed in the main hallway at the school.

Joe Morelle Jr. executive director of UNICON , which represents unions and management leaders, talks about how UNICON will continue to provide support, including material, and are committed to helping the school create the murals of pioneering women for the next 10 years.
