Effectively addressing mental health care


Everyone deserves access to good, equitable mental health support. Unfortunately, people who need mental health services often face social or geographic barriers to accessing needed care.

One in four Black and Hispanic adults over age 60 have experienced racial discrimination in their health care and have noted that their health concerns were not taken seriously by clinicians. More than a quarter of older adults felt that they did not get the care or treatment they felt they needed because of discrimination.
