RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team (1-1, 0-0 ASUN) fell to Jacksonville State (1-2, 0-0 C-USA) by a score of 4-2 on Friday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
To begin the dual match, Marilou Cote earned her first Division I doubles win with Emmeline Polevoi from the No. 2 court, 6-3. However, the Gamecocks won in doubles play from the other two courts to take a one-point advantage.
Cote lost the first set of her singles match from the No. 3 spot, but she won the next two sets to take the match, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Polevoi won her second singles match of the season from the No. 4 position in straight sets, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.
However, the Gamecocks won on three singles courts to clinch the match.
