Elizabeth Holmes is being sued by creditors of her former company Theranos over $25 million, according to a lawsuit made public on Friday when the former CEO appeared in court. The lawsuit asserts that Holmes broke her contract by issuing three promissory notes during her tenure as Theranos’s chief executive officer and failing to repay the money. According to the lawsuit, the first two promissory notes are past due, and the third will mature in December. Holmes is currently appealing her convictions for wire fraud and conspiracy. On April 27, she is due to surrender and begin serving her 11-year prison sentence.
