The most recent episode of What If…? With the reintroduction of Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff or Scarlet Witch in the MCU, Season 2 drove fans into a frenzy.

What If… the Avengers Assembled in 1602? is the title of the episode. The opening episode of season one of the animated series featured a fight between Steve Roger’s Hydra Stomper and Peggy Carter as Captain America.

Captain Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, teamed up with Natasha Romanoff, played by Lake Bell, to take down the Red Room full of Black Widows.

Rogers, in an unexpected change of events, sacrifices himself to destroy Red Room’s spacecraft, causing Carter to go hunt for him.

However, red fractures develop on the floor, and the superhero is whisked away to another dimension.

Still suffering from the shock, the fifth episode’s post-credits scene showed Peggy being presented to Nick Fury, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, and Wanda, voiced by Olsen, both dressed in Elizabethan clothing.

“There is she,” Fury confirms, “the one who can save our Queen.”

“More… she will save our world,” Wanda adds, prompting Carter to sigh.

The latest season will be centered on the plot of Avengers 1602, which was inspired by Neil Gaiman’s comics.
