Else Nutrition Launches in U.K. in First Step Into Large European Market

Else Nutrition has launched its plant-based dairy-alternative drink for toddlers in the U.K., marking its first push into the multi-billion-dollar European market.

The partnership with U.K. distributors continues Else’s push to expand into international markets with its non-soy products.

Else said the U.K. baby food market is valued at GBP960 million ($1.19 billion) in revenue, while the European market amounts to $17.42 billion this year and is expected to grow in the coming years thanks to a rising population of baby boomers and increased participation of women in the workforce that has encouraged the acceptance of powdered milk and the preparation of baby food.

In September, Else began commercial production at a new U.K. facility in the Midwest that it expects will support its manufacturing demand for the coming years in North America. The company last month said its ready-to-drink kids’ shakes would hit the shelves at more than 100 stores of a Canadian grocery chain in the province of Ontario.
