The Regional Arts and Culture Council, a prominent yet embattled arts organization that receives millions of dollars annually from the city of Portland, has fired its top leader following an outside investigation largely shrouded in secrecy.

Executive Director Carol Tatch’s last day was Wednesday, two sources with direct knowledge of the decision confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive. The group’s board voted to remove her last month, they said.
