The Emporia Arts Center invites the public to an Artist’s Opening Reception for Chasing the Light: A Study in Ink & Watercolor by Gary O’Doniel. The reception will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Trusler Gallery, located at 815 Commercial Street, Emporia, KS.

Chasing The Light is a striking visual study of the Kansas Flint Hills in southern Wabaunsee County and other areas in this region rendered in the unique style of plein-air painting. Gary O’Doniel captures the essence of the prairie landscape using ink he creates himself from local walnut trees and vivid seasonal watercolors. The result is a moving tribute to the land that inspired him.

The exhibition will be on display June 6 – June 28, 2025, and is free and open to the public.
