LOGAN – The popular Friday Night Live series of entertainments at the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza hosted by the Logan Parks & Recreation Department will continue with events through Friday, Oct. 3.
The next event in the series line-up is Kristina Evonne, presenting county music in her Americana style from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 20.
Based in Salt Lake City, Ms. Evonne is known for her fresh, feminine twist on the country genre, with a focus on stories of outlaw country guys and girls.
An evening of country line dancing will follow from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 18.
That event will be held in Sage Hall at the Cache County Fairgrounds at 490 South, 500 West in Logan.
The month of August will be chock-full of four events planned by Logan City officials.
On Friday, Aug. 1, the northern Utah band Juniper Junction will take the stage at the Laub Plaza from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Juniper Junction is made up of local musicians playing a mix of folk, bluegrass and country tunes.
The Laub Plaza will also host Erica Cheyenne & the Traveling Hippies from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15.
Ms. Cheyenne says her band is a “family” of talented musicians who have been playing together since 2023. Their music is described as a blend of folk, country and blues, with heartfelt and honest lyrics.
Musical presentations will continue on Friday, Aug. 22 when the Barn Kats perform from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Laub Plaza, playing a bend of country, rock and blues tunes.
Finally, the month of band sessions will close with Holidae performing at the Laub Plaza on Friday, Aug. 29 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
A home-growth Cache Valley ensemble, Holidae is a rock/pop band that plays some of the familiar songs from the 1980s through the 2010s.
The band is comprised of Evelyn Winn on acoustic guitar and vocals; Brindlie Simonson on bass and harmonies; Kalle Danfors on lead guitar; Irv Nelson on keyboards; and Ryan Winn on drums.
The Friday Night Live series will conclude during September and October with Cinema under the Stars screenings of children’s movies.
Those films will include Sing (Friday, Sept. 5); Cars (Friday, Sept. 19); and Monsters University (Friday, Oct. 3).
All movie screening at the Laub Plaza will begin at 8 p.m.
City sponsored events at the Laub Plaza are free to be public, but residents are advised to bring their own lawn chairs.
The Carol and Jim Laub Plaza is located at 55 North Main Street in downtown Logan.
