Environment conservation awareness drive held in Pilibhit

Lucknow: A special environment conservation programme was organised at Mustafabad Forest Rest House under the Environment Warriors 3.0 campaign on Friday. The event, hosted by Maa Peetambara and Ambalika Foundation, was attended by forest minister Arun Kumar Saxena and MLA Rajeshwar Singh.
The event featured inter-school quiz and debate competitions, where winners from schools received Rs 20,000. Singh also awarded laptops to three students for answering questions on environment.
The forest minister launched a 1,000-tree plantation drive, honoured 30 forest watchers with bicycles, and recognised five forest officials for excellence. A free medical camp was held for forest department personnel.
Key inaugurations included a smart classroom at a primary school in Chokhapuri, the Ran Bahadur Singh Digital Education and Empowerment Centre, and two solar-powered water holes for wildlife conservation. Ten sewing machines were also distributed to self-help groups.
Saxena praised public-private partnerships in forest conservation, while Singh warned that rising global temperatures and plastic pollution posed severe threats. He emphasised CM Yogi Adityanath’s goal of generating 5,000 MW solar energy and highlighted the increase in India’s tiger population.
