
A man who escaped from the Marion County Jail was found driving a car with several illegal drugs, a handgun and a small child inside is now in custody in Sequatchie County, according to Dunlap Police.
Officers arrested Brian T. Young of Whitwell shortly before 9:00 p.m. Monday evening, according to a Facebook post.
That came after police say they saw him commit a traffic violation on Rankin Avenue near Lane Drive in Dunlap.
A release says after officers identified Young as a wanted man, they searched him and found counterfeit pressed Fentanyl pills, methamphetamine and a glass methamphetamine pipe.
Police say officers then searched the vehicle and located more counterfeit Fentanyl pills, Alprazolam pills, a Glock handgun and 83 rounds of ammunition and $1,912 in cash.
The release says a small child and two other passengers in the vehicle were released from the scene.
In all, police say they found 489 counterfeit pressed Fentanyl pills, 51 grams of meth, and 3 Alprazolam pills.
Young now faces these charges:
- Possession of Fentanyl for resale
- Possession of Alprazolam for resale
- Possession of methamphetamine for resale
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony
- Unlawful possession of a weapon
- Driving while in possession of methamphetamine
- Tampering with evidence
Young was also cited for failure to signal and no insurance.
He’s now in custody at the Sequatchie County Jail, and he’s scheduled to appear in court on December 15th.
