Essex North Shore Car Show Revs Up Scholarship Fund

DANVERS, MA — A day of vintage fun at Essex North Shore will help benefit graduating seniors in the school’s Automotive Technology and Collision Repair programs, with more than $2,000 raised for scholarships during the annual Essex Car Show.

More than 150 classic, custom and cutting-edge vehicles drew a large crowd of car enthusiasts, students, alumni, staff and neighbors for the event, sponsored by the Kelly Auto Group.

“The car show is an amazing event for our school community,” said Executive Director of Technical & Agricultural Education Jill Sawyer. “It is a celebration of the passion and skills that drive our students and staff in the Auto Tech & Collision programs.”

The show also featured the third vehicle donation to a local family of five through the school’s partnership with Second Chance Cars, a nonprofit that connects refurbished vehicles with working families in need.

“As a veteran teacher in the program, it is one of my favorite events of the year,” said Brooks Clarke, an automotive technology teacher. “It gives us a great opportunity to showcase our student’ passion for the industry and is a fantastic way to bring car enthusiasts to our school.”

Essex Tech thanked the student volunteers, alumni and the local businesses that donated raffle items to make the event a success.
