Ethan Slater is separating from his wife Lilly Jay, but he still wants to be involved in the life of their son.

TMZ says that the Fosse/Verdon actor “desperately” wants to raise his one-year-old son with his wife, to whom he was married for two years.

People say that Slater talks to Jay every day about their kid.

The news source said that after he broke up with Jay, the star spent time with his son in London because he is “determined” to be a big part of his life.

It’s not clear what Jay has to say about co-parenting with Slater, but despite his new relationship with Ariana Grande, it seems like the actor won’t give up on his son quickly.

He even asked Jay to put out a joint statement about how they were raising their son, but she didn’t want to say anything at the time.

This is because Jay reportedly told Page Six about her ex-husband’s relationship with the singer, saying, “[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl. My family is just collateral damage.”

But, according to TMZ, Jay told Slater that she doesn’t know where the leaks to the media came from and that he was surprised to read her statement to Page Six.

The publication says that Slater didn’t know what it meant when the news source told her that her comments were being recorded.
