EU ‘needs overarching vision’ for research and innovation


Draft presidency text seeks more from fundamental research and potential combination of innovation instruments

The EU needs an overarching vision for research and innovation funding, according to a draft ministerial text that highlights the bloc’s “complex” R&I funding landscape.

The draft conclusions of the Council of the EU group of R&I ministers also seek a way for the bloc to get more out of its funding for basic research, and to potentially streamline its innovation funding bodies.
