Ex-Prosecutor Found Guilty of Secretly Recording Partners in Bed

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said this week that a former lawyer in Burnett County, Wisconsin, was found guilty of filming his sexual encounters without the consent of his partners. Daniel Steffen could spend more than 10 years in jail and pay a fine of up to $30,000. This is because he was found guilty of three felony counts of showing nudity in art. In 2020, police found a series of videos on Steffen’s iPad that showed him having sexual encounters with two different women. Both of the women told police that they did not agree to be filmed. One of the women allegedly told an informant that she was having sex with Steffen in exchange for a lesser sentence in a criminal case against her, according to investigators.
