Experience Ireland at Musical Instrument Museum March 15-16

The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) is bringing the sounds, stories, and traditions of Ireland to life with its annual Experience Ireland event, set for March 15–16, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

This lively weekend celebration will kick off St. Patrick’s Day festivities with a variety of interactive experiences, including live performances, hands-on workshops, and storytelling sessions.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy Celtic music and dance from renowned performers such as solo artist Scott Jeffers, the North American Celtic band Devil’s Brigade, and dancers from the Bracken School of Irish Dance. A special Irish step dancing workshop will also give guests a chance to learn traditional moves firsthand.

For those interested in Ireland’s rich musical heritage, MIM will offer instrument spotlights and workshops where attendees can play the concertina and harp, take part in a family-friendly Irish traditional music session, and learn about the history of the rare sultana instrument from MIM curator Matthew Zeller.

Additional programming includes Irish storytelling accompanied by live harp music, youth-led mini tours focusing on harps from around the world, a themed photo booth, and a craft station where guests can create their own miniature Irish harps.

The weekend’s events are included with paid museum admission and are free for MIM members. Experience Ireland is supported by Gilbert Town Fiddlers, with additional funding from the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
