ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — Fairfield Community Schools has opened an onsite health clinic.

It offers routine visits, as well as lab tests and medications for employees on their health plan.

School officials say this plays a vital role in overall health and wellness.

“We were worried that a lot of teachers and staff weren’t t going to the doctor as much as they needed to. And so we wanted to make sure that we provided along with our health insurance plan a program that they can get the health and nurse practitioner that they deserve,” said Carrie Cannon, Superintendent for Fairfield Community Schools.

Cannon calls it a win-win, as there’s no cost to the taxpayers or community.
