People are making fake Tripadvisor reviews of the Dublin restaurant where a botched gangland hit took place on Christmas Eve before the suspected gunman was stabbed to death.
Tristan Sherry, 25, burst into Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown around 8pm that night carrying a high-velocity weapon. He is believed to have targeted a 47-year-old criminal who was dining with his son.
He fired a number of shots before being overpowered and stabbed up to 27 times. Michael Andrecut, 22, of Sheephill Avenue, Corduff, has since been charged with his murder.

Screenshots showing a number of restaurant reviews have appeared on social media, with one describing the violent incident and adding: “Overall, I won’t be taking the family back but I was definitely entertained.”
The review gave the restaurant five stars for atmosphere.
“A man machine-gunned an auld fella… and was then stabbed to death with steak knives. But a great night for the Snapchats!” read another review, apparently referring to footage of the incident that was shared on social media.
The reviews are not currently on the Tripadvisor website. It is unclear whether they originally appeared on the site or if they have since been removed. Browne’s was contacted for comment by the Daily Star.
Horrific videos of Sherry’s gruesome death appeared online in the aftermath of the violent incident, featuring close-up shots of him lying on the ground covered in blood as he was stabbed and struck on the head with a large object.
The footage was widely shared on X (formerly Twitter) and had been viewed almost 100,000 times by St. Stephen’s Day.
Gardaí appealed to the public not to share the videos and it is understood that efforts were made to contact X in a bid to have the footage taken down.
“An Garda Síochána is aware of videos of the incident and immediate aftermath which are in circulation on social media and messaging apps. We are appealing to the public for these videos not to be further distributed,” said a spokesperson.
The restaurant was busy at the time of the horror shooting and stabbing with families, including young children, out for a Christmas Eve meal. As the attack unfolded, customers screamed and ran and frightened parents rushed out of the premises carrying young children.
Shocking video footage of the immediate aftermath of the scene shows people running and screaming, a woman running while carrying two young children, and other customers hiding under tables.
In another video, the gunman, wearing black gloves, was seen lying in a pool of blood on the floor and being tended to by two firemen.
“The gunman went into the restaurant to do damage. He went into the restaurant to kill and it severely backfired on him,” sources told the Irish Mirror.
“After the male was shot, a number of other people managed to overpower the gunman and brutally stabbed him to death. It was a horrific death.”
