Fan Reactions to Ed Sheeran’s Copyright Victory

Ed Sheeran is a British pop star and songwriter. His fans are happy that he won the copyright case because they were worried when he said he would quit his job if the case didn’t go his way.

A US court has concluded that Sheeran did not steal ideas for Thinking Out Loud from Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get It On.

Sheeran, who won on Thursday, shocked his fans by promising to end his music career if he was found guilty in a New York court.

Sheeran was accused of taking a chord progression from Marvin Gaye’s 1973 hit “Let’s Get It On” and using it in his Grammy-winning song.

According to the New York Post, Sheeran, 32, said, “If that happens, I’m done. I’m stopping.” He seemed to promise that he would stop making music if he lost. “I find it really insulting to work my whole life as a singer-songwriter and diminish it.”

One of Sheeran’s fans wrote on Twitter, “I like his songs. At least his first two records. I don’t understand why everyone hates him when he’s the easiest artist to like. Anyway, I’m glad he won his case about copyright.”

Someone else wrote, “Oh! “You’re back!” The third person said, “Wow!” We know that you play music and are not a thief.”

Others congratulated the singer on his win and told him, “We will enjoy your music until we die.”
