Fans of Holly Willoughby have been given some unexpected news following reports that the host of This Morning will be taking a two-month hiatus from the show in the wake of the scandal involving Phillip Schofield.

According to a story in The Independent, Holly will return to work in September after taking a sabbatical for two months, and her final program will take place on Thursday, July 13.

According to the story in the journal, which cited The Sun as its source, the 42-year-old ITV broadcaster is merely taking her “usual and planned break over the summer.”

After Phillip Schofield stepped down as co-host of This Morning in May, the host of Dancing on Ice has been co-hosting the show’s daily edition with Craig Doyle for the past two weeks.

After Phillip admitted to lying about having an affair with a coworker at This Morning, he made the decision to retire.

In the meantime, the publication claims that ITV has named her successor as the host of the show, which will take place while Holly is away on leave.

It comes after Holly broke the devastating news that her mother-in-law had passed away two days before Holly’s sharing of this information.
