Fantasy basketball season is finally here, so let’s cut to the chase with some Top 150 player rankings. Want to know how you should rank Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokoumpo now that they’ll be sharing the rock in Milwaukee? What about trying to zero in on some late-round breakout targets, or figuring out which veterans you may want to avoid this season?

Hopefully this Top 150 players cheat sheet will give you some answers to those questions and more, and you can rely on it to help guide you on draft day.
I have provided three different sets of rankings here: one for Roto leagues (ROTO), one for Head-to-head category leagues (H2H), and one for points-based leagues (PTS). For the majority of players, there will be little variance — a similar ranking across all three scoring formats.
But for certain players, the scoring format makes a huge difference. For example, RJ Barrett is a pretty safe bet to produce Top 100 fantasy value in points-based leagues, but he barely cracks my top 150 in Roto and H2H scoring, due to his well below average shooting percentages. Conversely, OG Anunoby scores much higher in Roto and H2H scoring compared to points leagues, thanks to his strong shooting efficiency and elite steals.
In the third column in the table below, you will see each player’s position eligibility for ESPN leagues (POS), as of September 28. Keep position eligibility in mind if certain positions are more scarce in your league, in which case you may want to adjust your personal rankings accordingly.
You can also rest assured that this cheat sheet will be updated at least a couple of times during preseason, so be sure to check back again if you’re drafting in mid-October. And, of course, stay tuned for in-depth columns from Stan Son and I to hear why we’re bullish on certain players, or why we think others are being overrated.
Happy drafting, and best of luck to you this season. On to the rankings!
Note: The last column (far right) in the table below is the average ranking (AVG) for each player for the three scoring formats combined.
