Father John Misty (Josh Tillman) played his unreleased song “The Dead Mouse One” on Thursday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Tillman went solo for the ethereal performance at the Ed Sullivan Theater.
“The Dead Mouse One” was previously debuted live by Tillman during a Father John Misty concert at Sunset Cultural Center in Carmel-By-The-Sea, California on December 15, 2023. The song hadn’t been performed publicly since until last night as per Setlist.FM.

Father John Misty is currently on tour in support of his latest album, Mahashmashana, which was released on November 22, 2024 via Sub Pop Records. Tillman brings the excursion to Philadelphia tonight and ends the North American leg in Washington D.C. tomorrow.
The tour resumes in Oslo, Norway on April 3. After April and June shows in Europe and the UK, Father John Misty returns to North America for a summer tour with support from Lucinda Williams and Hamilton Leithauser on select stops.
