WASHINGTON (7News) — The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) wants to turn to Artificial Intelligence to help weed out illegal robocalls.
The FCC reports that it received 120,000 complaints about robocalls last year. Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel spoke at an event held by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). She said AI could be applied to communications networks.

“The other things we’re looking at is how AI and pattern recognition and machine learning can help us identify fraud on communications networks. So we can cut those bad actors responsible for robocalls and Robo attacks off before they ever reach you on your device or in your home,” she said.
Rosenworcel is encouraging companies to continue developing technology to help.
