LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Fayette County Schools is ending its nearly 50-year partnership with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.
FCPS says they have chosen a new vendor, Maxim, to provide nursing staff services for all schools starting July 1, 2024.
They say the decision came after an RFP process that included a bid, technical proposal and interview from several companies/organizations, including the Lexington Fayette County Health Department.
Lexington-Fayette County Health Department Communications Officer Kevin Hall provided a statement saying in part, “We are proud of the work we have provided Fayette County for almost 50 years and look forward to continuing our mission of helping Lexington be well.”
FCPS says between 54 and 58 nurses will be impacted by this decision. However, they say Maxim has told them they are willing to interview and hire the current nursing staff members if they are interested in staying with the current school where they serve
