Food manufactures would need to redesign their products to include key nutrition information on the front of the package under to a rule proposed Tuesday by the FDA.
The labeling scheme would complement the nutrition facts label on the back of a food package by displaying a simplified informational box with nutrition information that gives consumers additional context to help them quickly and easily make more informed product selections, according to the Food and Drug Administration’s proposal (RIN 0910-AI80).
