My order: This Mexican restaurant located in the former Augie’s Front Burner is decked out with festive flags and other decorations. I ordered the burrito loco, a flour tortilla stuffed with grilled chicken and steak, shrimp, rice, refried beans, cheese, pico de gallo, and hot sauce. It was colorfully topped with salsa ranchera, cheese dip, and spinach sauce ($14.55). My companion had the burrito deluxe consisting of two large flour tortillas – one with ground beef and one with chicken and beans — topped with ranchero sauce, salad, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese ($14.55) with a side order of rice and beans.
Likes: I appreciate festive food presentations, so the flavorful burrito loco adorned in sauces to mimic the Mexican flag was fun. We enjoyed chips and salsa ahead of our meal, and my companion especially liked that the chips were fresh, light, crisp, and not heavy with oil.
Dislikes: The prices charged for items were higher than the printed menu. Both our entrees were listed at $13.99 on the menu, which according to the Facebook page was a new menu as of Sept. 21.
What would I order next time? The pollo MaryFlor of grilled chicken, mushrooms, and spinach topped with cheese sauce served with rice and beans ($10.99).
